Mangalore : The Mangalore Police Commissioner paid a guard of honour and last respects to constable Rajappa who lost his life in a tragic road mishap near Bappanadu Checkpost in Mulki on April 5, Friday morning.

The mortal remains of Rajappa were placed at the Commissionerate office premises where senior police officials including Western Range IGP Pratap Reddy, Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar, SP Abhishek Goel, ACPs Kavitha, DCP Dharmaiah and others laid wreaths and paid respects.

The body was later handed over to the family members of Rajappa including his wife, parents who had arrived from Honnali. Later it was taken to Honnali in a police vehicle. A cheque was handed over to the family as immediate compensation. The IGP who spoke to the bereaved family of Rajappa has assured all help from the police department.
