Mangalore : As a part of verdict delivered by the Allahabad High Court on the Babri Masjid – Ramjanmbhoomi issue, the day in the Mangalore was was quite peaceful and calm due to the efforts of the police department on September 30, Thursday.
There were no incidents of violence took place in the city. In order to maintain peace and law and order around, the police officials have arrested 65 people for creating problems in city.
The crowd gathered near Bhavanthi Street celebrated the joy of verdict by bursting firecrackers and there were dispersed by the police. Most of the shops in the city remained closed.
In the evening the number of buses plying along local routes reduced.
