Mangalore: Seemanth Kumar Singh, the first Commissioner of Mangalore Police Commissionerate, was honoured and given a warm farewell by the police personnel of the Commissionerate on October 31, Wednesday. Singh had served as the Commissioner for two and a half years.
In his address, Singh said he was satisfied with his service in Mangalore and added more manpower would soon be recruited to the department. More control rooms too need to be set up.
Pratap Reddy, IGP of Western Range, who presided over the function, lauded the functioning of the Police Commissionerate during Singh’s tenure and appreciated his style of functioning.
The new Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar who also spoke assured to continue the good works done by Singh.
Assistant commissioners of Police Jagannath and Gurudutt Kamath, Mutturaya, DCP (Law and order), D Dharmaiah, DCP ( Crime and Traffic) and several police officials were present.
