Mangalore : The Bejai market building the construction of which is pending completion since long was inspected by Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo on July 2, Tuesday.
Prior to visiting the market building, the MLA held discussions with the architect and contractor and sought information regarding the project.
He later inspected the market construction works and said the delay was mainly due to the non-sanction of funds. He said though Rs 1.4 crore had been sanctioned it had not reached the persons concerned. He said the market project costed Rs 4.8 crore and added he would discuss the issue with the MCC authorities and ensure that the market project was completed at the earliest.
The MLA also said the market building is a ground plus three floor project and will have space for fish, meat, chicken, beef, pork and dry fish stalls, vegetable outlets, super market among other things.
