Mangalore: What procedures were adopted by Mangalore University (MU) to admit students from unaided private colleges and govt-aided private college to run postgraduate (PG) courses the same it now wants to be applied to Government colleges.
The Vice-chancellor Prof T.C. Shivashanker Murthy would be writing to the Govt, soon to permit the MU to conduct admissions and PG students to various college under its care from the academic year 2012-13.
The MU would publish an advertisement on admissions conduct entrance tests announce the merit list and waiting list also follow the reservation norms for BC students and allot students to various college under its jurisdiction.
There are 32 Govt. colleges under the University, with some offering PG courses for over 2 years of them 7 had applied to MU to offer select PG courses in 2012-13.
There VC informed that MU would offer courses in Tulu under Correspondence mode from 2012-13 for diploma, certificate and PG (Dip) courses.
The council has agreed to sanction affiliation to 3 new colleges in Bantwal, Savanur (Puttur) and Moodubelle (Udupi). 2 Registrars and Finance officer were present at the academic council meeting on Friday.
