Mangalore : Pranab Mukherjee, president of India, conferred the prestigious gold medal for Best Junior
Resident of 2012 on Dr. Shwetha Kamath of Mangalore at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences’ convocation ceremony held recently in New Delhi.
Dr. Shwetha Kamath received her medal and certificate in the presence of Ghulam Nabi Azad, union minister for health and family welfare.
Dr. Kamath, an alumnus of St. Agnes and Canara educational institutions, got her MBBS degree in KS Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) at Mangalore before getting a distinction in MD (Pathology) at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
Dr. Kamath is the daughter of Shantha and Shrinivas Kamath from Kadri in Mangalore.
