Mangaluru: In a noble gesture, a cyber café owner in the city finally managed to fulfill his dream of providing food to the poor and needy.
Arafath Ameen, a resident of Mangaluru runs a cyber café near KMC Hospital, Balmatta. Drawing inspiration from children who visited his cyber, he has kept a fridge near the café with leftover food that could help the needy.
Arafath says that he had the dream from the past three years and it took shape on December 2. He opined that his initiative received good response. Arafath stores fruits, juice, water and food for the needy. The food is stored in a hygienic way and is monitored through CCTV cameras. This is the first of its kind in the coastal city of Mangaluru.
As of now, Arafath pays for the food from his own pocket. In case the initiative succeeds, he plans on having the storage units at three other cyber cafes at Attavar, Hampankatta and Bendoorwell.
In the coming days, Arafath plans on having a double-door fridge so that vegetarian and non-vegetarian food could be stored separately.
