Mangaluru : With the road and train services from Mangaluru being restored, airlines operating from Mangaluru International Airport that made a killing during the floods have pared down their prices. The airfares are now below Rs 2,000 one-way to Bengaluru.
The airlines had hiked the fares to the nearest destinations, especially Bengaluru, by almost three to four times in the second week of August. The fury of monsoon had caused landslides on Charmadi and Shiradi routes, cutting off both road and rail connectivity to Bengaluru and other neighbouring districts.
