Mangaluru : The six day Kodial Theru festival concluded with the colourful Okuli celebration on Wednesday, Febraury 13.
The Gaud Saraswat Brahmin (GSB) community has jovially celebrate colours fest Okuli a day after Car Festival (Kodial Teru).
Thousands of people, men and women, both young and old joined the festivities and sprayed coloured water at each other. They sang, they danced to the tunes of loud music and there was fun and frolic everywhere. Little children were seen enjoying the colour water and dancing while spraying water on each other.People were seen exchanging hugs and sweets to mark the celebration. Okuli marks the end of the six day Kodial Teru.
The devotees thronged in to seek blessings of Lord Venkatramana and Goddess Padmavathi. They carry the decorated Palanquin of Lord Venkateshwara and Goddess Padmavathi in all the five streets and finally, the procession concluded the Srinivas Pathshala compound, and the deities bathed in the holy tank.
In the night the entire programme will end and the flag will be lowered to mark the completion of the festival.
