Mangaluru : The Mangaluru City Corporation started drive against illegal plastic flex banners in city corporation area. Officials have begun dismantling unauthorized flex banners installed in city on Monday, including Clock Tower, MG Road, and Mangaladevi area.
The violater will fine of Rs 2,000 for the first offense. If the violation is repeated, the penalty will be increased to Rs 4,000. Further violations will lead to stricter action, including the cancellation of the printing press’s trade license and sealing of the premises.
The public is also report illegal plastic flex banners by calling the helpline, can take photographs of violations and send them via WhatsApp to assist authorities in enforcement efforts.
However, cloth banners and other promotional materials are permitted with prior approval from MCC. Those installing cloth banners must obtain permission by paying a fee of Rs 200, which grants approval for 15 days. Additionally, all banners must display the printer’s name and contact details.
