Mangaluru : The officers of Mangaluru Customs on Thursday seized 2.41kg gold valued at Rs 1.1 crore from a female passenger flying from Dubai to Mangaluru International Airport.
Kapil Gade, deputy commissioner, Customs Mangaluru said that the smuggler has been identified as Mohammed Ali Sameera, resident of Kasaragod in Kerala. She tried to smuggle gold by concealing it in both her inner garments including sanitary pads and socks.
Gold of net weight 2.41kg was seized. Foreign-origin cigarettes were also seized from her possession.
