Mangaluru :By his timely act, farmer Frank Fernandes averted a possible train mishap at Bondel-Pachanady on August 1 and on behalf of Railways,, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel honoured him on Friday August 7.

Frank noticed a crack on the railway track at Bondel-Pachanady and on the track was the Mangaluru-Madgaon Intercity Express fast approaching to wards.on August 1 Noticing the train, frank urgency and used a bunch of red Pagoda flowers to signal the possible danger, thus averting a train derailment and that could have claimed lives. . For his timely deed,Mangaluru North MLA Mohiuddin Bava honoured and appreciated and gave a small purse to him recently.

As an encouragement., MP Nalin Kumar Kateel also visited Frank with party and his supporters, lauded and honoured him with a Peta, and Rs 2,500 and a certificate of merit on behalf of Southern Railway Palakkad . MP Kateel said recalled how rank Fernandes made a timely attempt by stopping the Mangaluru-Madgaon Intercity Express and averted a possible mishap in the district., when, he tried to caution the officials, failed and showed a sense of urgency using red flowers, he signalled the engine driver who stopped the train.
