Mangaluru: The Mangaluru lawyers Association Staged a protest the shooting of a lawyer in Allahabad district court here on Friday, March 13 in front of District Court premises.

Addressed toi the protestors president of the association S.P.Chengappa demanded prompt action against the police officer accused of gunning down Nabi Ahmad on Wednesday. Police had to be deployed outside the city`s district court premises to prevent any untoward incident. The police sub-inspector puportedly opened fire with his service weapon inside the Allahabad district court complex. Police is behaving inhumanly these days, he said.

The lawyers Association have demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore for the family of the deceased, and Rs 25 lakh for the wounded lawyer. Union government must take the matter seriously and the cop Shailendra Singh should arrest earliest, they demanded.

Associations vice president Yashodhara Karkera , Chief secretary Raghavendra H, treasure Yathish, joint secretary Suma Sharan were present.
