Mangaluru : The Mangaluru police Commissionerate, the Dakshina Kannada District Police and KSRP 7th Division- Mangaluru jointly observed Police Flag day on Police grounds here, on April 2, 2017.
Retired police personnel honoured with felicitation and paying tribute to the brave police personnel for their tireless service, celebrated the day.
Speaking on the occassion City Police Commissioner M Chandra Sekhar said that a proposal is put before the government and discussions are being held to extend the Arogya Bhagya scheme to the retired government employees, and congratulated all police officers who have received the Medals.
Retired ASP Madan A Gaonkar said government officials have health insurance till they retire. “Health complications arise after retirement and the ex-staff face inconvenience without insurance. The scheme should be extended to the retired officials as well.”
Police personals need to maintain our pride and work towards a good society, Every policeman to be accountable to their seniors, he said.
A total of 59 police personnel who retired in 2016-17 from Police Commissionerate and DK Police jurisdiction were felicitated.
