Mangaluru: Many BJP workers assembled at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) and Kenjar Circle and protested against Ramya’s arrival to the city, on Thursday.

Protestors demonstrated black flags as a symbol of objection to Ramya’s statement on Pakistan hospitality.

Ramya came out of the airport with high security and Congress leaders U T Khader and Mithun Rai were assisting her. Police cleared the way to move her car and protestors shouted some abusive words on police. In relation to this police has taken five people into custody.

When Ramya reached Kenjaru, she was welcomed with eggs. BJP protestors threw eggs on her car and shouted slogans against her. But her car didn’t stop till reaches the city.

Ramya had recently praised the Pakistan hospitality saying that it is not a hell like someone states in India, good people are present there also. This statement had created pandemonium anong the public.

Former MLA Monappa Bhandary, Jitendra Kottar, Harish Ponja were present for the protest, six people have been detained here by the police.
