Mangaluru : Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada Sasikanth Senthil S. flagged off three vehicles carrying relief material meant for the flood-affected people in Belagavi district, from the Karnataka Polytechnic here on Monday.

Different volunteers had donated the relief material to the government’s collection centre opened at the Karnataka Polytechnic, Kadri.

The material included groceries, buckets, mugs, water bottles and the like.

Earlier, the district administration had appealed to the people to donate for the flood victims.

Mr. Senthil said that some more relief material collected are pending in the collection centre.

They would be dispatched on need basis to other districts hit by floods.
