Bengaluru: Home Minister G Parameshwara said that Mangaluru, Bengaluru and other prominent cities of Karnataka are likely to get German model of policing and traffic management very soon.
Addressing the reporters, he said that the latest technology for traffic management is used in Germany’s Bavaria. Plans are going on to adopt same type of model here in Karnataka also as the traffic management has become a big head ache to the department.
Recently Parameshwar and his team visited Bavaria and after observing the traffic management model and policing model he signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bavarian officials.
“Munich is the one of the safest city in the world. During the visit our team observed a lot of positive points which can be incorporated here in Karnataka also. Moreover Bavaria has a people friendly policing system and most of the citizens of Bavaria has accepted the change in it,” he said.
Police personnel from Bengaluru will be sent to Bavaria for the training, he said adding that Bavarian police also visit Bengaluru for the same.
He further said that in Udupi a coastal police training academy will be set up in 25 acres of land. The aid of Rs 100 crorewill be given by centre for the same. Automatic identification system, distress roaming system, boat collar coding system and other features also used to protest the coastal boarders of Karnataka
