Mangaluru : A woman riding a two-wheeler on the Udupi-Kochi National Highway from Kuntikan towards Surathkal died due to sustaining head injuries after the vehicle she was riding was hit by a truck.

According to the traffic (west) police, the deceased is Priya Suvarna, 42, a resident of Panjimogaru, who was a beautician. The accident was reported near BMS Hotel on Wednesday. It is learnt that the speeding truck hit the two-wheeler, due to which the victim fell on the ground and sustained head injuries.

She was rushed to a private hospital, where she was declared brought dead. The police have arrested truck driver Suresh in this connection, who hails from Sakleshpur. An investigation is on in this regard.
