Mangaluru : Enthusiastic participation by people of all ages was witnessed at the Walkathon orgainsed today from Lalbagh in the city. This event was jointly organised by Mnaglore Refinery MRPL and IOCL.

This walkathon was a part of ‘Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav (SAKSHAM) 2020’, an annual one-month long fuel conservation mega campaign of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA). PCRA functions under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. This walkathon was organised from Lalbhag to KottaraChowki. The initiative aims to bring awareness towards various efforts being made in the country for saving fuel.

Launching the campaign, CVO MRPL, Shri Rajeev Khushwa said that there is a dire need for actions leading towards fuel conservation. The walkathon covered a distance of approximately 3.5 kms and involving participants from all walks of life, carrying banners and hoardings.

The event was supported by ShriShyamprasadKamath, GGM-TS, MRPL, ShriSudheerPai, CGM-PE, MRPL and ShriAnoopKhushwa, Chief Divisional Retail Sales Manager- IOC.

The walkathon ended with distribution of certificates and refreshment to the participants.
