Udupi : All the five accused who are arrested in the gang rape of a medical student of Manipal University were produced before the court on September 21, Saturday when the hearing in the case commenced.

The next hearing has been scheduled for October 28. The judge asked the prosecution to  prove the charges leveled in the chargesheet. Senior lawyer from Mangalore Purushottam Poojari is the defense lawyer for the accused.

The three main accused in the case Yogish, Hariprasad and Anand  are lodged in Shimoga jail while the other two Balachandra and Harindra are in Hiriadka jail.
