Udupi: A nursing student lost her life in an accident that took place near petroleum bunk nearby Akashvani relaying centre at Brahmavar on Sunday March 18.

The deceased has been identified as Jismi (21), a local of Kerala, who was a nursing student in Manipal.

Jismi was heading towards Kundapur with her classmate, Benita, in a scooty, when a container truck rammed at the scooty from behind. Both of them tumbled down from their vehicle on the divider of the street. Both the students sustained severe injuries in the mishap. They were immediately rushed to a private hospital at Brahmavar.

On Monday, March 19, Jismi breathed her last as she was not responding to the treatments. Another victim, Benita is also said to be in critical state.

A case has been registered at the Brahmavar Police Station.
