Mangalore : In a emotional charged protest gathering of students from different colleges near DC office Mangalore on 22nd June 2013, the protesters urged Authorities to take stringent measures against the rapist of Manipal and provide protection to ladies hostels and other vulnerable places.   

Speaking in the protest meet Abhilash PV senate member of Rajiv Gandhi Health Sciences Bangalore said that it is unfortunate and unthinkable such thing could have happened in Manipal. He demanded immediate arrest of the criminals without succumbing to any political pressure by Authorities.
 
The agitators are mainly female students from the medical colleges of the district. Later they submitted memorandum to DC  urging him to take strong action against perpetuators of such dastardly act.
