Manipal : A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Department of Public Health, Manipal University (MU) and The Ohio State University (OSU), USA with regard to an educational exchange program under which there will be research workshops and conferences jointly by the students and faculty of both the institutions.
It may be mentioned here that Dr. Stan Lemeshow, Dean, College of Public Health of Ohio State University had visited Manipal some time back and had also organised the first International Workshop on Epidemiology and Biostatistics in Manipal.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed recently in the presence of Dr. Michael Bisesi, Associate Dean, College of Public Health and Dr. H. N. Nagaraja, Professor and Chair, Division of Biostatistics, represented OSU, and Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dr. Ramachandra Kamath, Professor and Head, Department of Public Health, Manipal University.
As part of the new Study Abroad Programme, a total of 17 students from The Ohio State University are inManipal. They are conducting a study on global health with emphasis on Indian public health system and policies.
