Mangalore: Reports of late reveal that Manish Karbikar from Chattisgarh was likely to be appointed the new Commissioner of Mangalore Police, vice Seemanth Kumar Singh who is in London on a training. However, there is no confirmation as to yet regarding the appointment.
Manish is an IPS officer of the 1998 batch and is a graduate in Electronics Engineering. He has served as ASP in Gadag, Raj bhavan and Mandya and worked for the BHEL for six months prior to joining the police force. He has also served as SP of Gulbarga and Crime Branch Cell in Bangalore. Currently he is the DIG (Civil Rights Enforcement) Bangalore.
Karbikar has even served as Police Advisor for a year in the International Peacekeeping Force in Sudan, Northern Africa.
