Mangalore: Manjeshwar Congress workers staged a protest on the National Highway 66 road, demanding the Kerala border be cleared.
Though the central government issued a circular to open all borders of the country, although Talapady border not opened for the general public, protesters condemned the Kerala government’s stand.
Kasargod District Panchayath Standing Committee president Harshad Vorkady and Manjeshwar Block Panchayat Standing Committee president Mustafa Udyawar, Ilyas Toominadu, Musa, Rauf, protested and blocked the highway and shouted slogans.
The Manjeswara police led by station officer Raghavan, arrested the protesters.
Harshad Vorkady warned that if the border was not opened, will hold strong protest with thousands of supporters.
