Chandigarh : Senior RSS functionary and BJP leader Manohar Lal Khattar took oath as chief minister of Haryana on Sunday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leaders attended the oath-taking ceremony at Panchkula on Sunday.
Among other leaders, outgoing Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal were also also seen.
The venue of the oath-taking ceremony, which was earlier Tau Devi Lal stadium, had been shifted to Panchkula’s HUDA ground in Sector 5.
Elaborate arrangements had been made for today’s function, which saw a huge rush of the BJP workers.
Haryana BJP leaders claimed that nearly 1 lakh people attended the function.
In the 90-member Haryana Assembly, BJP bagged 47 seats, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won 19 seats and its ally Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) got 1, Congress won 15 seats, Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC BL) won 2 seats, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) managed 1 seat and five seats went to independent candidates.
