Mangalore : There is something to cheer about for Dakshina Kannada which has registered a reduced pass percentage in SSLC results this year when compared to last year. Manvitha, a student of Vishwa Mangala High School, Konaje has stood second in the state and topped the district in the exams. She scored 621 out of the total 625 marks.
She is the daughter of Shobha M, a housewife and AN Mohandas who works in a welding shop in Bantwal. The family is from Kamblapadavu in Pajir village of Bantwal Taluk.
Manvitha scored 125 in English, 100 in Social Studies and Mathematics and 99 in Hindi and Kannada and 98 in Science. She shared the rank with Nagarjuna of Holichild Highschool, Bangalore and Prerana of Adichunchanagiri, Shimoga.
Manvitha has made the district proud and has made her parents extremely happy Her mother Shobha says she used to study six hours daily and has been a consistent academic performer. Manvitha herself says she expected high marks but a second rank was a surprise. She wants to take up science and become a doctor.
