Mangalore : Mariamma Thomas, former corporator of Mangalore who recently resigned from the JD(S) and openly supported Congress candidate of Mangalore South Mariamma Thomas, has charged BJP candidate Yogish Bhat of making false claims in the booklet ‘Vijaya Yatre’ distributed by him to voters of his constituency.

Referring to one of the claims, Mariamma Thomas said the booklet said that the works under Rajeev Gandhi Development Board were complete in Shaktinagar while actually that was not the reality. She said Shaktinagar came under the ward which she previously represented.

She also stated that majority of the contents in the book distributed by Yogish Bhat are false and also stated that several projects which  are mentioned in the book like advanced pediatric care centre , ropeway at Sultan Battery and Ladygoschen Hospital building are not yet complete.

Mariamma Thomas said she plans to complain to Lokayukta.
