Mangalore : Over 150 members from various political parties like BJP, JD(S), BSR Congress and Independents have joined Congress party and received Congress flags from Oscar Fernandes in party election office at Nantoor  near Mangalore.

The prominent among them are, Shashiraj Shetty JD(S)  Mohan Padil ex BJP Corporater, Bajilakeri Kamalaksha an independent ex- Corporater, Pushpraj, M. Kaseem , Ganesh Shetty, Ganesh Malli, Umesh Shetty, Vasudev, Pavan Kumar, Harish and Jayaraj.

Speaking to Media persons, Janardhana Pojjary said that the main rival to Congress is BJP in the next election and people are fedup of 20 years of mis rule of BJP. He appealed to the newly joined members to whole heartedly work for the victory of Congress party in the district.

Speaking about Sonia Gandhi’s visit to Mangalore, which is postponed to 27th April, he said that all the arrangements were done and apealed to the people of the district to come in large numbers. Mr. Fernandes said that Communal disturbances are the main problems in the district and Congress will strive for communal harmony.
