Mangaluru: For the purpose of soid waste management Mayor Harinath flagged off 37 new vihcles at MCC building at Lalbhag on Friday.
Addressing the gathering Harinath said that as he many complaints from some of the areas saying that the waste collecting vehicles are not coming to the area, Antony waste Management Company was requested to rectify the problem and as per the request from MCC the company is co-operating with MCC.
Mangaluru North MLA Mohiudhin Bava said that MCC is a model for all the municipal corporations.
“When it comes to waste management MCC is better than many of the city corporations. Though there are few complaints, it is common to have complaints regarding waste management, but MCC has tackled it well,” he said.
Later, Kavitha Sanil informed that wet waste will be collected everyday and dry waste will be collected once in a week. Out of 37 vehicles 7 are computer trucks, and MCC will be grateful to the company.
Lancelot Pinto, Shashidhar Hegde, Deputy Mayor Sumithra Kariya, leader of opposition in MCC Roopa Bangera and others were present.
