Mangalore : A vehicle jatha to create awareness among the public on the  plastic ban in Mangalore, was flagged off by Mayor Gulzar Banu near the DC office in Mangalore on October 26, Friday.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Channappa Gowda, MCC Commissioner Harish Kumar and others were present on the occasion.

The DC said  all types of plastic handbags, plastic cups and dining table plastic sheets will be banned throughout  Mangalore taluk from November 1 and that plastic ban would be implemented in phases.
