Mangalore : Mayor Praveen Anchan inaugurated the event ‘Aatidonji Dina’ organized at Heritage Village, Pilikula on July 25 Monday.
The event displayed the Tulu culture and lifestyle such as scythes, pots, lantern, grinders, rolling pins, farming equipment, and others. Traditional Tulu cuisine such as chutneys, patrodes, appam, kajipu, ambade and others were displayed and served.
DC Dr. Channappa Gowda planted saplings of coconut and paddy.
Speaking after inaugurating the stage programme, Shailaja Bhat, the president of the zilla panchayat, briefed the importance of preserving Tulu culture among young children.
J. R. Lobo, the director of Pilikula Nisargadhama Society welcomed the gathering.
Konkodi Padmanabha, the president of CAMPCO, inaugurated the handicrafts expo. MLA Abhayachandra Jain and others were also present.
As a part of event, traditional indoor and outdoor games were organized.
