Mangalore : MCC Mayor Mahabala Maarla inaugurated Handicraft expo ‘Poompuhar’ organized by the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited at Woodlands Hotel on October 24, Friday.

Speaking on the occasion Mayor appreciated the varieties of products displayed at the expo making people available the handicrafts under one roof.

Poompuhar Manager Manikantan, said that the expo has displayed the crafts from Punjab, Delhi, Odisha, Maharashtra and other places in 20 stalls.

The expo displayed several bronze idols, brass oil lamps, gold and silver plated jewellery, American Diamond jewellery, Hyderabad pearls, Tanjavoor art plates, dress materials, fashion jewellery, terracotta products etc.

Apart from it, Panchaloha statue of Lord Vishnu in Shesha Shayana posture and a huge lamp with small bells attracted many visitors.

The exhibition will be open till November 3.
