Mangalore : The fund of Rs 100 crore sanctioned by the Chief Minister for the infrastructural development of the city has been used for the concretization of 16 roads, out of which 13 roads have been completed and three are in finishing position at the estimate cost of Rs 50.54 crore, said Mayor Rajani Dugganna.
Speaking at the press meet held at Mayor’s Chamber at MCC she said that the amount of Rs 3.92 crore has been reserved for the development of Parks, Bus stands and asphalting of some roads, out of which 23 infrastructures has been completed and 4 are in finishing stage and the amount of Rs 3.67 crore has been paid.
The amount of Fs 8.23 crore has been paid for the land acquisition for the establishment of new bus stand at Pumpwell.
She also said that, the amount of Rs 100 crore released for the second phase will be used for the infrastructural work at the earliest and the work procedure has been prepared.
Mayor also said that, the sodium street lights will be replaced with CFLC in every ward to reduce the power consumption. The street lights will be on after 45 minutes late and will be off at 5.30 in the morning. The useless borewell will be permanently cancelled, she added.
Speaking about the waste disposal, she said that the MCC has called the tender for the waste disposal from 60 wards of corporation limit, out of which 47 wards have been separated in 8 packages.
Deputy Mayor Rajendra Kumar said that the MCC had made a provision for the scrap shopkeepers in Bunder, with the good arrangement for 50 people, but they are not ready to vacate the road side shops.
