Mangalore, August 4: The Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) in association with Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) conducted a raid on many shops in city and seized 800kgs plastic carrier bags.
Speaking on the occasion, MCC official said that around 100 shops were raided in several parts of the city, including Central Market, Kadri, Bunder, City Bus Stand, and KS Rao Road and seized the plastic bags weighing less than 40 microns.
He also the authority had imposed fine of Rs. 750 each on 5 wholesale plastic traders, and around 13 flower sellers were caught selling flowers in banned plastic bags.
