Mangalore: The founders branch of Mangalore Catholic Co-operative Bank, otherwise called MCC Bank at Hampanakatta, re-opened as a newly renovated, air-conditioned and attractive branch office Monday, February 27 morning.
John Richard Lobo of Pilikula Nisargadhama near Moodushedde as its executive director, was asked to inaugurated the new look branch. Fr. Walter D’ Mello, Parist, at Milagres Church, conducted a prayer service on the occasion.
MCC Bank chairman, Melvyn D’Cunha, told the gathering in his presidential address that the Bank was on the verge of celebrating its 100th year in May and that efforts would be made to make it statewide. The bank had 16 branches and deposits of nearly Rs 210 crores, he added.
John D’Silva of Mumbai co-op. movement and Konkani Bhasha Mandal spoke about catholic community being lethargic and backward.
J.R. Lobo spoke of good services given by MCC Bank in branches. Bank associates were present. Stephen quadros welcomed Prakash Nazareth Compared. Irene D’Souza thanked the distinguished gathering.
