Mangalore, Jan 19, 2012: Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Harish Kumar inaugurated the Muller Heath Expo 2012, organized by Fr Muller College of Nursing by unveiling the expo flex at the premises of Fr Muller Medical College and Hospital on Jan 19, Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that he was selected by the organization for the inaugural since he has never taken an injection ever before and thus claimed to be a healthy man.
Today medical profession is working just as business in the country. He lamented that during the National Youth Festival, one of the hospital in the city had not allowed to admit the ill participant, without paying the admission bill.
Speaking on his personal experience as the commissioner he said that he had quit the noble profession as lecture and joined as the MCC commissioner since he gets an opportunity to serve the people and work for the development of the society.
Presiding over the event, Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director of the college said that the nurses play a vital role in the health maintenance of the people.
He also said that this health expo is one step to the world to show their vital role in preventing diseases.
Principal Rev Sr Winnifred D’Souza welcomed the guests and gathering. Convener Vasantha G proposed vote of thanks. Administrator Rev Denis D’Sa was present on the dias.
The students of various nursing colleges participated in the health expo displayed in 33 stalls.
The stall displayed the model like prevention of cancer, heart disease, life style disorders, Environment Health Developments, Go Green, Method of Rain Water Harvesting and others.
