Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Commissioner (MCC) Hephsiba Rani Korlapati along with Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo and MCC Mayor Mahabala Maarla conducted spot inspection for setting up a full-fledged bus stand at Pumpwell on January 6.
A multi-storeyed bus stand-cum-commercial complex will be open for service in two years. The MCC is ready to render all the support required.The concept plan will ready before the Republic Day. The bus stand will built as an inter-state transport facility Korlapati said.
Lobo opined that the land acquisition process was done five years ago itself. In four floor three floors could be allotted for bus parking while the top floor will be reserved for parking facility of private vehicles.
He said that the administration had acquired as much as 7.28 acres land out of which five acres of could be used for the bus stand adding that the rest 2.5 acres comprise hill and canal.
Deputy Commissioner (Administration) Gokul Das Nayak, Corporator Ashok Kumar D K and architects from Interface and Kumarachandra and associates were present among others.
