Mangalore : Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar has said that stern action would follow against all those who discard plastic wastes as and where pleased on the roads.
Speaking at the MCC council meeting held on October 31, Wednesday, the Commissioner said the Mangalore City Corporation was committed to adhere to any decision which the district administration would take on plastic ban.
The Commissioner also informed that the service bus stand works near Pumpwell has been affected due to lack of co-ordination between different departments. He said an under pass was inevitable near the new bus stand due to highway extension. The Commissioner further informed that the project may cost Rs 10 crores.
Corporator Harinath said there has been a lot of discrepancies in ration card distribution in Mangalore. Several opposition members raised objections in this regard and finally the mayor unable to pacify the agitated members, adjourned the meeting.
