Mangaluru: A team of Mangaluru City Corporation officials conducted raid on shops which were functioning without renewing trade license, on Saturday.
The team was headed by health standing committee chairperson Kavitha Sanil. The raid was conducted near Hampankatta. Some of the shop owners, who observed the entry of MCC officials to the street, locked the shops and escaped from the place. Such shops were issued notice after sealing the door.
Addressing the reporters Kavitha Sanil said that the raids are being conducted frequently, but still some of the commercial establishments haven’t renewed the trade license yet.
“Today some have escaped from the spot, after seeing us. So, now onwards locked shops are seized of they don’t have trade license.” She said.
Some of the hotels were also locked for not maintaining the cleanliness.
Health Officer Manjayya Shetty, Engineer Madhu, Health Inspector Yashvanth, Karunakar and others were present in the team.
