Mangalore: Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Dr K N Vjayaprakash, is being promoted and transferred as the CO of ZP will take charge on August 1, Monday.
Speaking at the press meet held at KUDCEMP office on July 30, Saturday, Dr Vijayaprakash said that the MCC has taken many developments projects related to keep the city clean and green.
He also said that, during the road widening rocs, the authority had to cut down some trees, hence the MCC has also taken measures to plant 22,000 saplings this year in schools and colleges and its maintenance will be done.
He also said that development done in two is not satisfied but have tried to do it. The MCC have established three ‘Mangalore One’ project in the city, which is first in the state. It has also established ‘Nagara Mitra’ counter for the public an ‘Asha Chavadi’ for physically challenge and senior citizen at ground floor and getting good response.
The MCC has also experimented the survey for trade license with the help of Stree shakti and Self helf group. It also has done UGD connection for first time and using SHG staffs for survey helped the public to give more transparency in the system.
Speaking about the awards, he said that the MCC has received the solid waste management award, green leaf award, second position in clean city in the state and two ultra tech awards for best structures and concrete roads.
Further the MCC is working on the litter free bins in the city ad also received seven points for e-waste collection. Speaking on the Self Assessment Scheme, he said that the MCC had made the profit of Rs 9.67 crore in the year 2008-09, but in the year 2010-11 it has made the profit of Rs 38 crore and the first among the state to make 98 percent of profit.
The MCC has provided the full-fledged park for physically challenged children at Gandhinagar Park at Mannagudda and all equipments are ready and waiting for fixation. Another park is beautified at Hat Hill for women. He also said that the census procedure is completed and he is happy about it. The SC population survey also has been done. The flats have been constructed for the daily wagers at Rs 1 and half lakhs at Mahakalipadpu.
The Corporation has also reserved Rs 5 lakhs for traffic management and still some works are pending in police enforcement. Further Balmatta and KS Rao Road will be widened, he added.
