Mangaluru: Karnataka high court has dismissed a petition seeking stay on election process for Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) mayor and deputy mayor seats. Hearing the petition submitted by JDS member Abdul Aziz the high court rejected his writ plea on Wednesday in which the petitioner objected reservation for mayor and deputy mayor seats as both seats have been reserved for a woman candidate and a SC candidate respectively.
Election for MCC mayor and deputy mayor seats are expected to be held by March 12 this year as the writ petition has been dismissed by the high court. The elections for both seats have already been delayed for a year on a sty order against the seat reservation.
