Mangalore: A letter written by Ms. Malathi from Koraga Abhivriddhi Sangha, city office, Mangalore 6 to Joint Commissioner, Mangalore City Corporation M.G.Road, Mangalore, through health Department officer of 10th ward, seeking financial help for urgent medical treatment of MCC employee, SriKumar S/o Vasu (late) had been disregarded by MCC officials concerned on Feb.8 when it was written and sent to them to meet emergency expenses.
Srikumar was admitted to Kankanady Fr.Muller’s Hospital due to acute blood pressure (while he was on duty in the 10 ward health division), and was under observation in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) recently, but passed away on Friday night. His body was taken to MCC building on M.G Road on his death, the next day (Feb.12) urging monetary help for funeral rites by his family and friends but in vain, as MCC officers were closed (on second Saturday?).
No justice was done to late Srikumar by MCC although he was an employee in ward 10 of Health Department on duty when he died. The protest demonstration by the bereaved family with the dead body on MCC office front on M.G Road did not bring any financial help to the needy on Saturday (today). The body was later taken away.
The letter to MCC Joint Commissioner and notice of Srikumar’s death has been made duly for further action by authorities concerned.
The Koraga Abhivriddhi Sangha has now called for necessary MCC assistance to late Srikumars family for survival.
