Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Harinath inaugurated the fully fledged street vendors region, on Friday near Town Hall.

Street vendors were facing frequent trouble from the governmental officers and they didn’t have any assigned place for their trade. Previously they were trading near statebank, Wenlock hospital, Lady Goschen hospital and nearby areas.

Street vendors association was also formed to fight against the atrocities on them. They had urged the MCC to provide space for their trade. Now, a new street vendor’s arena has been constructed and nearly 200 street vendors can accommodate here. Further 400 street vendors can accommodate here in the same place.

MCC Commissioner Mohammad Nazeer, Chief Whip Shashidhar Hegde, Corporator Lancelot Pinto, Deepak Poojary and others were present.
