Mysuru : The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is mulling over installing ready-made toilet units, to address the demand for 625 individual toilets in the city. It will not just bring down the construction cost compared to normal toilets, but also the time spent on building the facility.
MCC Commissioner Dr C G Betsurmath told media, of the applications received for toilets, 425 are considered in the civic body limits. For them, it is being thought over to instal pre-fabricated units measuring 3X6 ft.
During the previous survey, the city had cleared weightage on open defecation-free parameter, with most households equipped with toilet facility.
Taking the Swachh Bharat drive further, the MCC will equip its office premises with multiple bins, as seen in airports and supermarkets.
Three bins having separate holders for types of waste to be dumped are being brought from Pune.
It will be extended to the MCC zonal offices, besides writing to other departments to follow the suit to keep their premises clean.
