Mangalore : The Mangalore City Corporation officials have started cleaning drive on illegal petty shops in the city on Wednesday, June 25.
Petty shops were situated under the flyovers at Kuntikana, Kuloor and Kottara Chowki were demolished. The MCC officials warned to the petty shop owners a month ago to clear the area, but they refused to move.
The team under the direction of Praveen Chandra Karkera, MCC assistant revenue officer along with Manjayya Shetty – health officer; and Balakrishna Gowda – town planning officer, demolished the illegal petty shops.
The team which carried out the demolition included Praveenchandra Karkera, assistant revenue officer, MCC, Manjayya Shetty, health officer and Balakrishna Gowda, town planning officer.
As per the locals complaint MCC officials carried out the cleaning drive.
