Mangalore: Mangalore City Corporation officials on November 6, Tuesday, sealed a garage located in a residential area at Shivanagar in Pandeshwar on the charges of causing inconvenience to nearby areas.
The latest action comes in the wake of complaints from the residents of the area that the garage was not only causing noise pollution but also disturbed the public. The MCC team was led by health inspectors Sreeshanth, Ramu and assistant heath officer Raghunath.
The garage, it is learnt is owned by Ravindra Marnamikatte and Mohammad Wajid Hasan. The MCC had earlier served a notice to the garage authorities directing them to close it down, on June 24, 2011. Though the owner had moved court against this, his plea was squashed.
Again a notice was served and then the garage sealed on Tuesday. It is learnt, nearly 15 people were working in this garage.
