Mangalore : The Mangalore City Corporation authorities tore down and removed the buntings that was put up by the Congress for its January 15, vehicle rally. The same were reportedly removed on the grounds that  it was in violation of the plastic ban.

It is learnt the step was taken as per the direction of Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Harish Kumar. If on Tuesday, all the buntings and banners from Urva to Hampankatta were removed, the drive will follow even on January 16, Wednesday. The authorities also said the buntings also caused nuisance to public and motorists and increased risk of accidents.
