Mangalore: At its Monday (Nov.29) monthly review meeting in Mangalore City Corporation (MCC), the Mayor Rajni Dugganna rejected to bring Mulky TP within MCC purview. Staff and expenses were cited for the refusal. BJP ruled MCC has taken a contrary view to that of Palemar and Abhaychandra jain, who wanted to provide better amenities to Mulky people. Mulky TP was carved out of MCC in 1997 by the state govt, it was noted.
The Council postponed a decision on widening certain roads in city. The Commissioner informed that bids were called to repair roads damaged in city areas. Rs.70 lakhs is the cost involved in tenders. Each ward is allocated Rs.55 lakhs (60 wards) for asphalting roads and fill potholes. Opposition corporate and in dependents complained of delays in the master plan workers.
