Mangalore: The Mangalore City Corporation has set July 31 as the deadline for traders to get valid trade licenses. This action comes after the recent raiding spree on various shops and business establishments, some even on prestigious malls in the city, resulting in closing down of several shops which failed to produce valid licence before the raiding team.
MCC Joint Commissioner Srikanth Rao has said that traders will either have to secure new licenses or renew existing ones by July 31. He has also warned that the shops of those traders who fail to adhere to the rules will be closed down.
It may be recalled here that the MCC raids on some hotels too had exposed that several hotels had failed to maintain cleanliness.
